This means she is far younger than the Buster Sword, Masamune, or even Rapier. Often gets confused herself as to when singular vs plural or first vs third person pronouns should be used, as she thinks of herself as both One and Several individuals.ĪGE: In primary continuity, quite young! She was only made after Cloud Strife chose to retire the Buster Sword as a memorial to his good friend Zack Fair, who gave his life to save Cloud’s. PRONOUNS: She identifies as female-gendered, but won’t be offended if you call her “they”. She often refers to her component selves collectively as the “Sisters”. If she’s in a puckish mood, she’ll refer to Nichi and San as “shortstuff”, as they’re her two shortest components. (Once she found out what “Swiss Army Knives” actually were, anyway.) Her other component pieces were given no formal names, though when separated she likes to call them Nichi (“Two”), San (“Three”), Yon (“Four”), Go (“Five”) and Roku (“Six”). However, her favorite nickname aside from “Tsurugi” itself, is probably “Swiss Army Sword”. Since her central piece is where her main persona is centered, though, that’s generally fine. NICKNAMES: She has been called “First”, “First Ken”, “First Tsurugi”, and “Ichi” (for “one”), though all of these technically refer to her central piece. Individual Blades may have different names depending on continuity. She won’t be offended if you refer to her as “Fusion”, though. However, she liked the sound of “Tsurugi”, and has adopted it as hers. Some people mistakenly believed that was the name of her whole self. She is composed of several interlocking pieces, none of which were originally given individual names, though her maker(s) referred to her central piece as the “First Ken” or “First Tsurugi” - the first blade, in other words. NAME: She currently goes by “Tsurugi”, which literally means “Sword(s)” this comes from initial confusion over her name, which is actually “the Fusion Sword(s)”. The Too Long, But Still Read It Like a Champ Version: Her default Master (in a sword sense! get your mind outta the gutter) is Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII, and her default universe is Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, with default timeline being post- Advent Children however, this blog is considered “multi-verse” and “crossover friendly” in terms of threads/interactions, so if that doesn’t work you can just ask the mun if she’s willing to tweak things for the sake of a thread :) They are (loosely) female gendered, and both the joined forms and individual Blades can take a human-like form that reflects that, and allows them to interact with human society and technology. Tsurugi/Fusion wobbles between using “she/her” and “they/them” pronouns - both are acceptable to the muse(s). They form a semi-“hive mind” of sorts that when joined together is dominated by First Tsurugi/the Prime Blade, however, the exact personality differs depending on which Blade you’re interacting with. Tsurugi, aka Fusion, is a sentient sword made of six component parts, each of which is also a fully-functional and fully-sentient sword.
